CW: Medical talk.

Kate has had a terrible cough for the past week. Given the state of my immune system, I am very cautious around anyone who might have a contagious disease, especially a respiratory one.

It got worse after she went to a book launch her father spoke at on Thursday — she had lost her voice completely for about four days.

I tried to convince her to go to the GP, but she wasn’t keen. Dr Google told her she wasn’t infectious. On the other hand, I’ve shared a small house and a bed with her and haven’t caught anything.

Maybe I’m being too paranoid? Despite having to spend three days in hospital earlier this year with pneumonia?
