Earlier this year I signed up to the local branch of the Porirua public library and was excited to see they had a app (Libby) I could use to order ebooks (and presumably hard copy books) through. For the life of me, I couldn’t get it to work. Anytime I tried to, it was a blank offering.

But my brother in law came to see me a couple of days ago and mentioned it, so I thought I’d give it another go. Glory be, it works. Massive selection of books from libraries in this part of the country. The only thing that is odd compared to buying an Ebook is putting one on hold and having to wait for it to become free. I assume the libraries have licences for only a certain number of copies they can lend out. Not getting them instantly is a different experience, but at least they are free.

I don’t think I will be able to read the books on my ancient Sony Ebook reader, but the iPhone seems to be fine.
